This is the thought which is coming in many cricket follower’s minds. What will happen next? Even if a score of 434 is not chased in the near future, at least teams will have more confidence to chase bigger scores in the 300 region.

It has to do with a mixture of pitches, bowling standards declining and shift towards batsmen.

For experiencing the match again, check out cricinfo’s ball by ball text commentary. :)

I don’t get any chance to watch any cricket here in the USA :( :(, so don’t even know what’s happening in this game. Just try to keep upto date my reading news. Please tell me what’s happening? I remember that while I was growing up, 278/300 were considered winning scores (as you mentioned). Then, I think it becamse like 310, 350. Now 450+!!!!!!!!!!! and still that’s not a winning score!!!! Is it something to do with the way they are making the bats and balls and the pitches nowadays, using modern technology?? Gees…very soon we will hear that 500 or 600 is not a winning score! Is that good or bad? Don’t know, but just wish that it will not take away the charm of cricket.
