Football Commercials #6: Ah Women
Women and sport don’t match do they? Well most women and sport any way (I can see the millions of women sports lovers coming to the defense of how women love sports already).
Also, Decalink will feature twice a week instead of thrice now. In some weeks, if I do find more links, I can always do the third edition. Have a nice weekend.

Women and sports don’t match because hardly women sports are recognized and given coverage to. Do most men love watching women’s sports, except perhaps beach volleyball and tennis (for obvious reasons)????????????? Then, why should women bother to spend and waste time on men’s sports?????????????????????????
Well………..I am really angry………….sorry for the confrontation………….

Most men watch women’s tennis for the obvious talent they possess in tennis and not for any other reason. I would not generalise and say most men watch women’s tennis for obvious reasons. Beach volley ball - I have never really followed it closely. However, the little that I have seen, the women who play it are hugely skilled as well. I won’t disrespect them by saying that most me watch beach volleyball for obvious reasons though it may be true for some quarters.
Other sports - WNBA has some popularity in the US, women are doing well in Chess in India. Also, athletes and swimmers do get attention world wide. So it is not just tennis and beach volleyball.
What you say is true for cricket and some other sports - there is virtually no audience for women’s cricket.
The coverage comes when sport is competitive and interesting usually. Women’s tennis for example has become much more competitive which has resulted in larger market demand for it.
