Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

No ESPN in Varanasi, where I was yesterday, meant I missed the game I was waiting for from forever. I had to contend with updates on BBC and instant messages from Dhoomk2 (thank you for that). Doesn’t matter. Two late goals means Barca are the 2005-06 Champions League Champions.
It is a trophy which is well deserved. I will not add much more. What a champion team. It has been an absolute privelege to be a fan of the team and follow it in the last 2-3 years.

Well i would not say that Barca did not deserve the cup, but the refree was a huge spoilsport first he was over protecting E’to and Ronaldinho and overlooking fouls on Henry. And he should have given the advantage rule instead of the red card to Lehman. But the heart that Wenger’s boys showed was just what Premiership is about.

I agree that the referee was a spoilsport Ripu regardless of whether he was protecting Barca players and overlooking fouls from Henry (heh I didn’t watch the matchlive). I say this for one reason - the red card early in the match (which you do point out in as well).
It made the game all the more exciting for various reasons but I would have absolutely LOVED to see these teams go at each other uninhibited for 90 minutes.

Yeah… worthy winners, but a match not befitting a final. Poor refereeing, 11 men vs 10, and no shade of brilliance from either ronnie or henry (some from larsson, but that’s about it). Honestly, you didnt miss much if you missed the final.
By the way, Henry has confirmed that he is staying on at Arsenal… so nice try, but not happening for Barca :)

Nirav, even if it was the most boring final ever, I would have treasured seeing it live.
On Henry deciding to stay at Arsenal - we miss a dream pairing of Ronaldinho and Henry create magic together. I would have loved to see him at Barca. It is far more important from Arsenal’s point of view that he stayed though.
I am glad, as a football fan, that Arsenal did manage to provide Henry with a good deal.
