Europe Screws South America

Monday, July 5th, 2010

So what was it about every one calling it South America’s world cup? 5 of the eight teams in the quarters were South American. Holland-Brazil second half saw the tide turn. What a game it was. Brazil absolutely dominated in the first half and no one would have given Holland a chance. Then, Holland turned it around, and how! It was one of the bigger turnarounds in World Cup history.

Then, it was time for the weak defense of Argentina to show up. Germany is a superb team of youngsters. Not many pundits back in Germany gave them a real chance given the young squad but it is a squad full of talent. Argentina’s defense was always going to show them up and it was a question of which team would do it.

Spain looks favorites to win the world cup in my opinion but any thing can happen. This IS football.
