I Am Over Cricket

India v Sri Lanka one of the tightest and most gripping tests one can ask for. Tendulkar batting. And I can’t seem to take any interest in it. Started watching cricket in 1991 with this match. Have watched a lot of great players like Lara, Tendulkar Warne, Ambrose, McGrath, Akram, Inzamam, Dravid. I can continue naming players.

But I no longer have the patience or the stamina to watch cricket. This coming from some one who used to watch even gully cricket. Almost 20 years of cricket has been time for me I guess.

This is similar to my friend who posted about this here and is not an uncommont though rare phenomena I guess.

This is in some ways a sad day for me but I am normal about it. As I said I am over it. My love affair with cricket ends. I cherished every moment while it lasted.

This is the end, my beautiful friend.

Just shows in yet another way how great Tendulkar is. He has a fair few good innings left in him in my opinion but the thing is now I can’t even watch him bat.

    Hi Pratyush

I had this phase between 2007 and 2009 – Lara and Adam Gilchrist retired. A major part of it is gone forever and I do not have the same attachment anyway..so I try to take pleasure from the one or two rare days of great test cricket on view when I am lucky to be on front of TV. Like I was this Friday, the 4th day….I texted a lot of friends excitedly on developments, wrote someblogposts….and can you believe that I woke up on Saturday and completely forgot about the engrossing day ahead – I knew of India’s win when someone called me!!

This is freaky Mr. Hazra. I too watched just the 4th day mostly except I also watched the first session of Day 4 too and Lara and Gilchrist are two of my favorite players. But you have watched cricket from much earlier than me. Have you felt like this when older players also retired from time before me?
